YES! The world's strongest dark beer. Dark, rich, roasty and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer. Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley. Have one with (or as!) dessert tonight!

"Oh My God! didn't see ABV on the bottle but one sniff! Alcohol dominates the nose with black cherries, concord grape, and perhaps cassis, and some definate malt in the nose as well. Ruby black opaque body sits over a very minimal burnt umber head that goes away fast leaving a skim coat and a bit of lace. Mouth is medium bodied, slick, and more carbonation detected than is visually apparent; coats the mouth nicely. Taste is winey in a nice way, hits a touch bitter then goes sweet with a big alcohol burn, has a nice tratness towards the end, finish is suprisingly dry, and then leaves a really full and complicated aftertaste, almost like a mince meat pie but I actually like this. Real good burnt malt backbone on this oneThis could bring to mind Southern Comfort of perhaps Sloe Gin. Certainly NOT a session beer, bottle says it has a ridiculous amount of barley, not sure I know what that tastes like, I am having this for dessert and its yummy but takes a bit of getting used to. Not everyone's cup of tea a but a damn interesting experiment, I would like to see what it would taste like in a less sweet version, could they keep the 18% under control tatse-wise without quite so much sweetness? but then it would be a different beer! Hats of to DFH as usual."

"Bottled 2007. Pours a black color with a thin tan head. Aroma is very heavy on the molasses and alcohol with some malty chocolate showing as well. My wife mentioned how strong and alcoholic it smelled and she was sitting a few feet away. Very rich and chewy with some bold flavors: Sweet figs and molasses, dark bitter chocolate, with some traces of coffee. There's definitely some heat to this... lots of sweet alcohol which doesn't make it the most drinkable thing out there and it seemed to over power the rest of the flavors. I guess you can't hide 18%. I absolutely wouldn't have wanted any more than 12 ounces and even then it took me a while. A complex stout and pretty good but it's a bit too much and definitely over-priced. "

"Bottled. This clear-looking beer has a deep mahogany body and a small, brown head. For a strong beer like this, the nose is surprisingly weak. Dryish, with chocolate, alcohol, cocoa, vanilla and some hints of tooth-paste. The flavor is more intense, with lots of alcohol, chocolate, cocoa, hops and mocha. It has a full, drying and warming mouthfeel, which feels a bit soapy. Lovely finish as well, with a nice hop-level, alcohol and chocolate. The beer is almost a bit too much, but it is lovely, and I’m looking forward to sampling it again soon. Thanks to Grove. (070213)"

"Pours black as coffee with no head or lacing. No carbonation. Sweet, strong aromas of barley malts, ripe dates and raisins, and sweet alcohol. Taste is sweet, smooth dates and slight toffee and coffee with a strong sweet alcohol kick."

"Sampled bottle, RBNAG 2007 in Grimstad. Black colour. Intense aroma of sweet malts, roasted barley, leather, liquorice and oak. Very sweet, alcoholic and roasty flavour with notes of molasses. Interesting, but overdone. "
