Brewed exclusively for The Drafting Room. Figuring out how to differentiate this beer from the 10th Anniversary Ale became something of a challenge. “We liked last year’s formula so much, we were hesitant to meddle with the recipe,” Mullin offered. It was agreed, however, that the beer should change from year to year. Although the style once again remains a matter of some speculation, a new and unique hop, Palisade, will play an important role. Mullin explains, This hop walks the line between bittering and aroma with alpha acids just under 10%. It has a soft, clean finish with characteristics similar to Willamette.” Once again, Troegs will be “dry-hopping” the final product for an increased fresh, floral hop aroma. Additional hops include Tomahawk, Warrior and Cascade.

"Cask poured a hazy amber color while the regular draft poured a clear lighter amber color. Both had a medium sized off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma was quite similar in both, displaying notes of orange rind, peaches, grapefruit, floral hops, caramel malt, and light spices. The taste off gravity cask was phenomenal, I would have given that version a 4.5. Vibrant grassy hops, caramel malt, tons of citrus fruits, including a beautiful grapefruit hop bitterness. The draft tasted near stale to me. I was told it was just kegged earlier in the week, but I definitely got some cardboard. Could it have been the pitcher TDR - SH served it in, to overcome their gas problem? Man, such a disappointment that this will only be on cask tonight, and even greater disappointment, it that I dropped my damn growler of the cask version on the sidewalk on the way into my house!! Anyhow, I averaged my two samples, but jeez, I’d be hard pressed to give the draft version higher than a 3."
