Faxe Amber was introduced in 2001 as Faxe celebrated the 100 years anniversary of the Brewery. Faxe Amber is amber colored and has more taste and body than normal pilsner/lager due to the use of pilsner-, Münchener- and caramelmalt.
Especially the use of caramelmalt gives character to Faxe Amber, because the caramelisation of the malt is transferred into the beer as a pleasant sweetness, which is balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

"I saw this at the liquor store, and afterwards, I wished I had left it on the shelf. It's not as vile as some other European swill, but it's close. It is clear, rusty red in colour, and has no head to speak of. The aroma is grainy, and the flavour is the same. I would expect more from a dunkel."

"500ml can
5.0% ABV
I tried this beer on July 25, 2007 after purchasing from my local LCBO store. It poured a beautiful translucent coppery-red colour into the glass with a generous head that left absolutely no lacing. The aroma is that of burnt malt. The mouthfeel is slimy with some mild carbonation. The taste is malty with a strong bitterness towards the end"

"1/2 liter Euro-can.
Poured a crystal clear very light amber-gold beer into my stem glass.2 finger chunky cap that reduces quickly to nothing...,NO lacing of the glass...assertive carbonation ( This is the tip off of a malt/dextrose extract syrup high gravity beer)
Aroma: light grains with a very light caramel sweetness soft, stale grassyness.
Weak malt spine, watery mouth feel. Light liquid body and semi-harsh character.
Starts with caramel sweetness with no detectable hop balance very watery...midway some stale hop additive is detected...fast finish.. sweet, some harshness in after taste...
..probably the least objectionable of the FAXE dextrose extract lagers but this type of high gravity extract-brewed beer always tastes lifeless, stale and too sweet to me. This is the type of crap Steelback makes on this side of the ocean...I see no need to import more from Denmark.

"500 ml can, best before date stamped on the bottom. Pours out a light brown / amber color. Nice white head right after the pour, then settled down to a thin cap covering that lasted the whole glass. Not alot of smell, some aroma of grass or grain and tiny bit of hops. Flavour has some sweetness in the middle and a very mild hoppy finish. Taste is OK, but if if you are expecting a full flavor, it will seem a touch watered down. Not alot of carbonation giving a smooth mouthfeel rather than a crisp tingle. An average amber ale, drinkable but nothing special. For the higher import price I will probably pass next time."
