"Trying it right now and the aroma as I opened it is very nice, Little bit fruity with a strong wheat taste. Slight metallic aftertaste. All and all a nice Hefe. Can't go wrong with a Monk on the label. "

"I think this was my first German beer, and it wasn't a terrible way to start out. Poured a nice cloudy gold with a very thick, foamy head. Not very much lacing and a lot of carbonation it seemed. Smelled a little like bananas and maybe some citrus hints. Felt sort of bubbly, and tasted like bananas and some sort of spice. A pretty good beer, though I've had better."

"Franziskaner was the first German beer I ever had and it remains my favorite one of all, as well as my favorite hefe. It has a wonderful golden hue with the scent of bananas and a little citrus as well. The head is nice and frothy. I prefer it from the tap than in the bottle - I find the quality much more consistent that way. It's served with an orange slice at many bars I've ordered from but I never use it, the beer is good enough! The taste of bananas is just right and doesn't taste artificial or 'chemical' and blends well with the taste of clove and coriander. I expected better lacing with such a frothy head - but no worries. Excellent."

"Bottle: Poured a cloudy dark beige color weizen with a huge pure white foamy head with good retention and great lacing. Aroma of banana and cloves is huge and very enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by some banana, cloves and bubble gum notes with a perfect creamy texture of wheat malt. Full body with limited filtration and great carbonation. No date on the bottle but I am guessing that this is somewhat fresh. Probably the best form a style that I enjoy consistently."
