This historic dark beer derives its rich chocolate character from a unique blend of pale. crystal, brown and chocolate malts. Fuggles hops give the beer the smooth and satisfying finish which makes London Porter perfect for many occasions, and such a fine after-dinner drink. Gold medal winner in its class at the 1999 International Food and Drinks Exhibition, London Porter's quality was once more acclaimed at the 2000 International Beer and Cider Competition where it won silver medal in its class

"Pours a dark brown with a thin head that dissipates quickly. Good flavor of expected coffee and chocolate, mouthfeel is a bit thin. Good drankin' beer. YAY"

"Humongous chocolate and roated malts in a very drinkable brew. Pours dark brown to perhaps light (if there is such a thing) black. Thin tan head - excellent lacing. Slightly over medium on the pallette and the flavor is outstanding - just damn near perfect."

"Pours pretty much black with a slight brown tinge. Creamy light brown cap with good retention leaves nice lacing. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt. Flavour is great, smoke, chocolate, caramel, nice bitter finish, really smooth and drinkable. Almost like a nice stout with lower alcohol, delicious. Smooth creamy mouthfeel."

"I can see how many experienced raters can overlook this gem of a beer, with many new raters rating this perhaps what some see as higher than usual. But after having this several times in the past (it’s available everywhere) and having this on a Christmas Day tasting, one can see why it’s rated like it is. A big chocolate/nutty aroma may seem pedestrian to some, but it was simple and elegant to me. Flavor also has the chocolate sweetness, a nice roasted malt that didn’t really show up in the aroma, and a light smokey note shows up about mid-palate. The chocolate really stands up and grabs your attention though and it’s quite delicious. I would have to say London Porter is richly deserving of it’s iconic standing. "

"Porter is our 1st choice all year. We have sampled MANY! This smooth, tasty stuff just seemed perfect. We particularly liked the taste and smoothness. My wife agreed completely when (after our first taste, first time) I remarked that "this is great." It is not particularly common in our area but I don't mind the search; the reward will be worth it."
