"330ml bottle
10.5% ABV
I tried this beer on November 13, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark brown with a thin tan coloured head. The aroma was candied sugar, maple, plums, raisins, and caramel. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, and medium carbonated. The flavour was SWEET. Teh alcohol was not all that noticeable, but the sugary taste was very dominant!"

"As I uncorked the bottle I smelled aromas of chocolate, raisins and ripe fruit. It poured a hazy mahogany color with a tan colored head that did not stick around for long. Once I drank the beer I tasted chocolate, brown sugar, caramel, spice, port and the strength of the alcohol. A good seasonal beer to sip and enjoy anytime of the year."

"This Belgian strong Ale pours a muddy brown amber color from a corked finished 750ml bottle. Large sized beige foamy head. Aroma is brown sugar, caramel, candi sugar, fruit and a touch floral. A medium to full bodied BSA. The malts are fruity and sweet, with lots of brown sugar and caramel. A touch of chocolate and dark fruits and well. Earthy and round. A great sipping beer for a cool winter evening. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet."

"NorCal December '07 - An absolute pleasure of a beer to drink. Like Scaldis Noel, this beer is best savored during the later fall/winter months when it's cold outside and you need some warmth inside. Aroma is brown sugar, caramel, green apples, bubblegum, and a touch floral. Mouthfel has a little harshness to it but gets better after a bit of breathing. Appearance is carmelized brown color, nice fluffy head with fantastic lacing. Flavors that dance on your tongue are brown sugar, caramel, ginger, dark fruits, licorice and alcohol. A slow, soft burn as the beer travels down your throat. A fantastic finish to a fantastic beer. Glad I have half a case of this."

"THis beer poured with a hazy mahogony colored body showing bright rich red tones when held to light and topped off with a tall loosely packed khaki colored head that left good lace down the sides of the glass. The aroma was spicy with some nice tones of Belgian yeast, dark fruit, and some sweet brown sugar. The mouthfeel was full bodied rich and very complex. The flavor starts off spicy showing some nice flavors of anise and clove, some bready yeast and finishes with a sweet caramel malty flavor and some some nice brown sugar. Alcohol very nearly undetectable while cold but as the beer warmed it became more prevalent."
