Double IPAs are hoppier, maltier and have more alcohol compared to their little siblings, standard IPAs. Hercules Double IPA is not for the faint of heart. It is, however, fit for the gods. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of hops from start to finish. Its hefty backbone of nutty, malt character balances its assertive hop profile. Hercules Double IPA is 9.1% alcohol by volume and 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

"I laughed when I read that this beer was 'fit for the Gods'. Universally ranked low on DIPA night, which was a disappointment as it was the hardest to get. Nice color, hoppy aroma with balance, but the taste was too malty for it to be competitive on DIPA night."

"355 ml bottle. Poured a clear mahogany or ruby brown colored ale with a good two fingers slight beige milky creamy foamy head, with tons of micro bubbles, that had a long retention. Mid-sized carbonation. Great lacing. The aroma is a deep solid piney and resinous hoppy bitterness, spicy, licorice, fruity, ripe raisins, plums, figs. The flavour is flowery, violet and massive piney and citrus hops but the sweety malts are also present and the balance is a real success. The mouthfeel is creamy, crispy and very round. This full bodied ale has a lingering strong flowery hoppy bitter finish. A full tasting DIPA. Quite impressive!"

"Three month old 12 oz. single: Aroma consists of some big north west style hops and sweet malts along with a hint of soap. Amber-copper body, large head and heavy lacing. Big and malty, big and hoppy, very firm bitterness. It's a big beer all around. Citrus, pine, soap with a mild catty quality. Nuts, bread and caramel play a role as well."

"Landed these from a trade with Fargingbastige6. A simply delicious DIPA. I love the strong IPAs that take on a heavy pine resin characteristic instead of face-scrunching grapefruit. I don't know what types of hops produce this desired piney effect, but I love it. There is a bit of a dry/bitter aftertaste. the aroma is flowers-cum-pine needles. This is truly a fabulous beer. A dark, copper color with a little foam on top. This makes two beers that I have had from Great Divide; I will have to keep trading to track down more of them. A beast; not to be taken lightly! Glad I was able to share a bottle of this with a friend."

"I have just had two pints of this on tap at lunch with a grilled chicken sandwich. Hell, I didn't need the chicken sandwich. It is simply stellar! It has, at first taste, a rather pronounced grapefruit/citrus flavor. I could drink this for breakfast with an omelet - and be in serious trouble before the meal was over. There are none better."
