"This is the only schwarzy I've had other than 1554, so I'm not unbiased. This is a hard style to like. Dark brown, walnut colored beer with lasting medium head. Aroma malty, and that's about it. Smooth on the palate, perhaps watery, but not too bad. Now comes the kick. Sour, I mean really sour, tangy, and almost like a white sourball hard candy, sort of licorice and fake pineapple, but burnt. Strange, but somehow making me want a nother taste, then another. It did not get better as it warmed and it is not a beer to drink quickly. I can't imagine that this is what a Schwarzbier is meant to taste like, it's just not very drinkable. I'll go ahead and give it an average rating because I don't know any better, but I would never ever ever buy this again."
