Greene King IPA is the mainstay of Greene King's cask ale portfolio. It embodies all that is best about British beer, with its clean, fresh, hoppy taste and distinctive tawny colour.

"I was expecting more from this based on the name alone. The 'IPA' name is a gross misnomer. There was a hint of hops, but nothing that qualifies to be an IPA. Similarly the malty backbone was also weak..........almost rendering this as a weak watered down British Pale Ale. "

"500ml bottle
5.0% ABV
I tried this beer on September 23, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent reddish gold with a thin white head. The aroma was a little malt, some piney scents, and hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour was a hoppish onslaught with a nice grapefruity finish. Very drinkable."

"I poured this beer wanting an IPA, and I think I got a mislabeled Bitter. Dark copper colour, little cap. A bit of a poor aroma at the initial pour that turns sweet with some hints of hops. Mouthfeel has some slight bubbles at the back of the throat, plain otherwise and finishes mildly dry. Slightly sweet flavour profile, but the hop middle somewhat redeems it, while finishing with bitter hops. Not quite what I was expecting in an IPA, and as such I didn't care for it. Maybe if I was in the mood for a bitter... but the flavour mediocrity kills that too."

"Pours an orange light amber colour with a small thin white head. Aroma is of light floral character lemon-honey and moderately infused alcohol with slight orange peel. Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, somewhat stale. Taste is of light lemon flavor- perhaps lemon lime soda and bazooka joe bubblegum."

"I am not often a fan of IPAs but this one was smoother tasting and less harsh than many are. It poured a golden color with a slight head and very little carbonation. The aroma was faintly spicy and sweet-not at all what I expected. Not bad....I would drink it again."
