"Aroma is weak but does have a tasty malt component and a hint of brandy. It pours a dark brownish amber with a thick but not persistent head. Flavor is more like cider than beer, mainly apply and rather on the thin side. Texture is fairly smooth and a little jazzy.
I guess ya gotsta have barley or wheat to make a truly flavorsome beer. Still, they get an A for effort."

"As far as ambers go, this one is a complete failure. As far as gluten free beers go this would be what one would expect. I'll review based off of normal ambers as I've only had a couple of gluten free brews but never an amber.
The beer is a dark hazy amber with a decent thick light tan crown that makes nice ropy lacing and looks pretty good in my glass. The aroma, however does not impress...actually it's quite vile - rotting meat, liquid at the bottom your garbage can, I don't know what else to say aside from that there may be a hint of fruit but other than that this is just an abomination. Sometimes the fruit aroma comes out more along with a slight spice. In the background of the flavour is a subtle hint that this has an amber quality, but that is hard to find. The rest of the taste revolves around a berry flavour which is much much better when quite warm. When cold, this beer is terrible. Some spice is there along with some other stuff (must be the millet, rice, buckwheat and sorghum blend). Very sharp and more tart than sour. Some wood and an odd bitterness. No hint of the 8.5% that the sticker on the bottle claims....probally a mislabel as I would agree more with 6% in this sucker. As bad as I've said this is, it is drinkable. Medium bodied. Dry finish and a very lengthy bitter aftertaste. At this point it is questionable if I bother to finish off the bottle."

"Bottled. Hazy ruby red colour, small white head. Aroma is mild red/dark berries with some slight cereals anbd grassyness. Flavour is quite exactly the same. Some fruity sweeetness in aftertaste. "
