"Guinness of course sets the standard for Stouts. There are representations of this style that are better, but Guinness Draught still holds it’s own. The body is characteristically black with a nitrogen charged tannish head. It is thinner than I’d expect though creamy. Toasted malt, chocolate and a faint hint of hops in the nose and palate. I have come to use the Guinness line for cooking and save the better stouts and porters for sipping. It really makes for a great flavoring in cooked foods. Great in chili. "

"Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle with a plastic covering and label into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a dark opaque color with a supper aggressive light brown bubbling action that takes a minute to settle out. (Very cool!) After it settles it forms a thick, supper creamy, tan head. Its head is stiff, has great retention time and leaves light tan rings of lace on the glass.
Smell: The aroma is of fresh baked bread and barely malt.
Taste/Mouth feel: Its flavor is smooth and buttery with some mild toasted and bready notes. The palate is smooth and a bit thin with a light to medium body and mellow carbonation. The finish is rather dry with some hop bitterness.
Notes: Defiantly one of the most recognizable stouts with that sweet looking head and deep dark color.

"I love Guinness Draught and generally drink it whenever I can. The first thing to note is the creamy head and the dark dark red body (hold it up to light, it's not really black). It goes down so smooth, I often finish before I realize."

"Great dark draught beer. Wonderful color and appearance, famous Guinness head, rich flavor... Not for the meek, or most first time dark drinkers. I enjoy this beer most when on tap, bottles and cans are still good. Best part is, most of my friends are Bud Light drinkers, so I never have to worry about them drinking all my beer! "
