"GUINNESS EXTRA STOUT. LOOK AT YOUR BEER REVIEW CHOICES CAREFULLY, PEEPS!
Poured out a dark dark brown beer that is lighter than normal 'on tap everywhere' Guinness and pours out a large bubbly tan crown that has no staying power. My beer is popping like Rice Krispies. The aroma is poor when on the cold side but does gain some credibility when warmer: light caramel and toasted malts, chocolate (if you leave it sit long enough) and maybe a touch of smoke (probably not). The taste is ruined by the carbonation. Seems too thin for a stout but really isn't. Something tart, toasted and caramel malts, some hops that totally do not fit in. Over carbonated, medium bodied, finishes a bit tart and with no impressionable aftertaste except for a slight burnt bitterness. I really wanted some sweetness out of this bottle. This beer sucks. Labatt should be happy they have a stout in their line-up and Guinness should be totally embarased for this under license sub par product. This is a beer that I do not want to have to open and pour into a glass and wait an hour to drink to enjoy. With that said I had no problem drinking it. However, the bottom 1/4 of my glass smells like urine. Good times."

"Upon checking my inventory i couldnt belive that i hadnt reviewed this one. I used to be a huge guinness fan until they moved production to canada a few years ago and the quality (to me) dropped off. Anyway this is the only guinness that i still occasionally buy. A dark black body, minimal carbonation with a thin head, Mouthfeel thick and creamy. Flavor of malts and a little chocolate. Good finish, still a top notch brew. "

"Presentation: It was poured from a short brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a very dark brown color that appears black and very opaque. Its head is thick and foamy with a tan color that leaves behind light tan lace on the glass.
Smell: The aroma has dark roasted malt grains with a light hint of some nice aromatic and grassy hops.
Taste/Mouth feel: There is a full robust roasted grain flavor with a hint of brunt sweetness that quickly turns dry with some grassy and floral hops at add a perfect balance of bitterness to stand up to the malty goodness. On the palate it is starts of smooth then turns very dry and crisp inside of a very drinkable medium body with a nice bitter fading finish.
Notes: It's much fuller in flavor and body than its nitro injected Cousin Guinness Draft.

"This is a great ale to cook with and that is the purpose of this review. It;s malt, caramel and chocolate richness imparts nice flavoring to red meat stews and chilis. And the bonus is if there's any left in the bottle it's yours."

"Not much aroma but has a faint smell of burnt chocolate. Dark, rich color. Persistent head. Dry finish to a beer that is a little more bitter than I like but knew going in. Nothing horrible about this beer if you like the style."
