"Pours a dark opaque black colour with a small brown head. Taste is chocolatey, noticeable pepper and black cherry flavors. Aroma is sort of woody with hints of black licorice."

"This foreign stout pours an eclipse black color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized tan foamy head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. A medium bodied Foreign Stout. Malts are roasty malts, chocolate and coffee. Lots of burnt malts, a touch of smoke and some vanilla. Smooth taste. Nice beer. Hides the 7.5% alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. "

"What an enjoyable stout, I wasn't expecting it to be this good. Poured a thick black with a decent head and ample amounts of thick sticky lacing. The aroma was bitter and filled with nice roasted malts. Thick mouthfeel that is full and satisfying. The flavor is chock full of dark roasted malts and a strong bitter quality, slightly nutty with decent traces of coffee and chocolate. A wonderful find for an unseasonably chilly spring night."

"A very good beer, however, I think I prefer the original Guinness recipe. This beer is not as aromatic and does not have the head of the other Guiness varities. I do not, however, want to discourage anyone from enjoying this beer. It comes highly recommended - it's just the lesser of the Guinness siblings."
