This refreshing Wheat Beer is styled after the famous “wit bier” or white beer of Belgium and similar to the German “wiess biers”. It is light yellow in colour, and during fermentation takes on a white appearance. Holgate White Ale is based on a special combination of wheat and barley malts. It is low hopped and therefore non-bitter, with a hint of citrus and spices – which all combine to make a refreshing and easy drinking Ale, perfect for summer conditions.

"Very pale gold, dark straw colour, with a white foam that fades to a thin cover of fine bubbles. Light haze.
Wheaty aroma, some subtle ginger notes, citrus. Light touch of toffee even.
Flavour a bit too sour for my liking. There is a bit of a cloying wheaty finish, but some more upfront malt would better balance the acid.
More bitter than, say, Hoe-ey.
Although these attributes are true to style, it seems all elbows.... some sharp points that could be rounded off somewhat, and mellowed with a bit more sweetness."
