Our IPA and Stout converge for a really great flavor combination to create a rich and robust black & tan. The assertive hoppy character of our Hoppin to Heaven IPA is perfectly complimented by the intense deep roasted flavor of our BORIS Oatmeal Imperial Stout. Two great tastes that taste even better together.

"Bottle from Julio’s Liqour in Mass. Pours with a dark brown body topped by a medium thick, tan head with a good amount of lacing left behind. It’s slightly sweet yet bitter and hoppy with nice piney notes and a roasted coffee/chocolate finish. Nice. Medium to full bodied and slightly warming."

"Re-rate, 10/07: Dropped a couple of notches this time through, bottle shared by slob. Hardly anything IPA noticeabout this one, the only bitterness being faint and more seemingly from the roasted malts than the hops. Pretty close to a black pour, also, maybe 1/3 ipa, 2/3 stout? Chocolate elements dominated with some roast also present. Decent, but not nearly as great as my original 4.0 experience. Thanks to Bert for sharing! Original rating: Bottle, courtesy crizay. Pours a brown-black color, nice initial, somewhat slow-developing head that sticks around, provides nice lacing. The aroma was choco-cocoa, smooth stout-like stuff going on, not much of the IPA aroma there. Flavor was wonderful, roasted chocolate malts, smooth oats even detectable in this blend, only mild hops, despite being 2/3rds IPA. A beer that beckons my consumption of one of my bottles of BORIS before too long here, I must have it. Mouthfeel smooth, silky, only moderate body, though. Thanks, Chris, a very nice brew."

"Thanks to bbb63 for this one.
THe aroma is dry, roasty with hints of chocolate. The flavor is definitely roasted malt but finishes with a nice touch of citric hops. "
