For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance. This 77-day process is unique and produces a delicious, refreshing beer: Aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked, palate. Deftly balanced and light in texture, soothing and warming in the finish.

"This beer has a strong whiskey smell with hints of caramel. The color is toffee with a foam head when poured. Overall a very good ale that is loaded with flavors. Lovely taste on the tongue when sipped which leaves a nice tingle on the back of the tongue. Highly recommended."

"Color is a beautiful honey-amber, promising a good ale experience. Aroma has strong fruity overtones. Flavor has a brandy-like bite, but is otherwise fairly typical of a good ale, with smoky/burnt undertones and just a hint of apple or pear. Smooth yet edgy, this is a beer made for sipping rather than guzzling."

"The pour put a honey colored ale in my glass with a puffy 3 finger cap. Soft carbonation. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel and fruit with wisps of smokey whisky smells...sorry I didn’t get the "vanilla-orange" smells the brewer promised. Very full tasting ale...a wonderful whack of sweet toffee caramel malts hit you right off as soon as this abundant malt blend settles on your tongue you get hit with a rush of fruit like a mild cider with a wonderful woody-smokey-whisky like decernment...finish is anticlimactic: wet sweet, slightly smokey clean and smooth. Hides the alcohol very well with the huge malt body...it only becomes detectable in the slow "warming" as you drink through a couple of these. A very nice twist on a scottish wee heavy...I’ll be looking to store a few of these away."

"I tried this beer after the limited edition version, and unfortunately, this version falls short. The beer is a dark reddish brown beer which has a strong aroma of roasted malt and caramel. The taste is a little bit on the bitter/sour side but there are still hints of the caramel and roasted malts."

"330ml bottle
6.6% ABV
I tried this after purchasing it at my local LCBO store. It was a nice pretty clear bottle. The beer poured a coppery red colour into the glass with a 1 finger creamy white head that dissipated quickly to leave a little trace on top. The smell was rather foul to say the least....almost sour. The mouthfeel is crisp and slightly thick with an idea level of carbonation. The taste is good with some hints of malt and fruit (although I can't place the sweetness off-hand)."
