JW Dundee's American Amber Lager has a complex malt character that is balanced by a distinct American Hop aroma and flavor. We use five different malts. We start with our two row pale malt as our base and then add four different types of crystal malts. It is the combination of the four crystal malts that define the complexity of the beer. Although the malt is showcased, the hops play an important part in the balance of flavors. We use simcoe, cascade, and magnum hops.

"One of the better offerings by JW Dundee but still not spectacular. Pours an amber color with some white head. Malty aroma and malty, sweet taste. Not bad but I wish there was more flavor."

"This actually pretty good moderately priced, readily available beer. I don't always reach for it, but when I'm in the mood for something just a little different and not willing to plunk down a huge wad of cash, this is a good alternative."

"Sampled from bottle, pours a clear copper colour with a fairly large white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, tofee and raisins. Taste is relatively clean, crisp with a soft hop finish."

"Presentation: Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a deep amber color with excellent clarity. The head is full and fluffy with a creamy off white color. It hangs on for a short time and recedes to a thin covering. On the way down the glass it leaves behind some nice lacing.
Smell: The aroma is light and clean. There is a light malt presence with soft aromatic hops in the nose.
Taste/Mouth feel: Nothing out of this world but it is fresh, crisp and clean. There is a pleasant sweet malt base with a mild hop presence within a medium body that has a refreshing texture and clean finish.
Notes: Simple and good but great. It comes with a modest price tag that will bring me back for more.

"Very clear reddish amber brew with nearly two fingers of head almost white in color. Aroma was of toasted, biscuity malts with some hop aroma and a mild apple smell. Tastes honey wheat bread and toffee malted sweetness.
