In 1990, Ichiban's debut made a splash in the world of super premium beers. The luxurious single wort (or first press) process yields a unique, complex flavor. With his gold label and "Special Premium Reserve" appellation, Ichiban outclasses and outperforms. But don't be fooled by a snooty attitude -- this is a great beer that goes with anything.
What makes Ichiban great? Prominent wort. Finest barley malt, premium hops, smooth finish, no bitter aftertaste.

" This is the worst Japanese beer in the USA. This beer is made by Anheuser-Busch in California. Kirin beer made in Japan taste 10x's different and 10x's better. Anheuser-Busch seems to ruin everything about this beer. To me it taste very similar to bud beer. I would rather drink Sapporo here in the States."

"This stuff wasnt too bad I guess..It was my first Japan beer..but its made by anhueser if you read the bottle..brewed and bottled in califnoria by an AB brewery in that area...So its nothing uncommon for it not being anything fancy..But it holds its on with the budwesier/busch beers..It doesnt smell bad..the apperance is normal pale lager apperance...the mouthfeel is light..the flavor is light ..over all its not bad at all..I got this in a sampler lastnight with some other good beers...would I spend much on a 6er of this? No...Ive never seen it avalibable in a 6er in this area..its ok though."

"A light and refreshing ale. The best of all Japanese beers I've tried. A crisp, lasting flavor, with a little bit of an aftertaste. Goes well when mixed with Dark Beers."

"Inexpensive bomber, plain pale lager. Faint aroma of soft malt, reminds me of a euro lager. Nice light yellow pour with a diminishing white head and nice lacing. Extremely light bodied, drinks like water with a soft finish. Pale malt with a splash of hops. Again this is very similar to the typical imported euro lager. Non-offensive, yet too boring to earn higher marks."

"Very Crisp but thats about all this lager has going for it. Clear yellowish colour, and a bit syrupy. Very little flavour or bite on it. Decidely mediocre."
