"Pour was dark murky red with medium head and some lacing. Strong aroma of sour cherries. Flavor was sour, sour cherries with a hit of "horseblanket" (or whatever you call that lambic funk) that puckered my face in the end. I'm still a lambic babe, but this wasn't half bad."

"Hazy dark red with a small pink head. Tart cherry aroma, small notes of minerals, spices, wood and earth. Tart and sour flavour of dark cherries, wood and grass. Sour, musty finish. "

"Red colour, small white head. Sour cherry flavour and aroma. Very dry finish. Hides it’s ABV well. One of the dryest Krieks I have had so far, and the people that were with me all looked amazed at the dryish and sourish flavour... "

"Reddish brown brew with a light pink head. Cherries that have been sitting in a musty barn on a rainy day with the horses. Very nice balance between the sweet of the cherries and the sourness of the beer."

"Oh.
Oh my.
Oh my goodness.
I'm almost speachless.
But that wouldn't make for a very interesting review, so I will try to get my mind back in order, and try to describe this most wonderful beer.
Me and Darren conducted a rather large trade a few months back, where he got a bunch of finely aged `96 Cantillons, and I got a mixed box of stuff -- all excellent, of course. The jewel of my side of the trade though was this mysterious paper-wrapped green 750mL corked-and-capped bottle. How did this bottle come to the United States, with the funky/minimalistic packaging, and not a single "Don't be a dumb-ass and drink-n'-drive or drink while pregnant"-warnings? Regardless of it's history, this bottle stayed in my "cellar" for a few months, until I rediscovered it. Now, I'm can see what he means when he initally described this beer to me: "It's feckin' brilliant man!".
Bing Cherry-like color in the body, with a delicate light pink head of foam, that never goes away. I had this in a tall Schneider Weiss Hefeweizen glass (since I have no specific lambic or gueze glasses), but this in no way hindered the lovely formation and maintence of the cap of foam on top.
Big cherry/sour aroma, but not nearly as brutal as I expected.
The same can be said for the flavor, IMO. I fully expected this be a die-hard, balls-to-the-wall, to-the-death, Cantillon-like "nut check" beer (in terms of the sourness -- so sour that you need to check your balls to make sure they haven't fallen off!), but this is so much more balanced than that. In fact, this one of the very best lambics I've ever had -- not sugary sweet like Lindemans, and not brutally sour like Cantillon. A bigger Ould Beersel, perhaps.... Despite my initial misgivings about the temperment of this beer, it's one of the most refined and well-behaved lambics I've ever run across.
Wonderfull mouthfeel, and the drinkability can't be beat, especially with the heat that we've been having here in San Diego. This really hits the spot, but good.
While I never doubted everybody's favorite Englishman about this beer, it's another thing altogether to taste it first-hand. A masterful creation, and highly recommended if you somehow see it for sale.
