"A very lively clear dark amber beer with a medium ligt brown foam collar on top. Has a neutral slight yeasty / slight fruity aroma. Feels slightly acidic, followed by a yeasty fruity (banana) sweet flavor. The aftertaste is fruity (banana) and bitter, with a nice warming sensation."

"This quad pours a dark amber color from a 33cl bottle. Large sized white foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is malty, spicy and sweet. A full bodied Belgian Quadruple. The malts are fruity and sweet, with some biscuit malt at the finish. Nice dark fruit and slightly spicy as well. The 10% alcohol is well hidden. Nice sipping beer. The flavors intensify and mellow as this beer warms. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet."

"The last Trappist Brewery for me to try. This quad poured with a deep burgandy color, full of bright red highlights and was topped by a medium sized fluffy light brown head that quickly settled leaving little lace. The flavor was full of sweet toasty malts, dark fruits, and brown sugar. Mouthfeel was medium bodied, very thin given the style. The flavor was sweet malts, plum, apple, caramel and some light alcohol in the finish."

"16 oz draught
10.0% ABV
I tried this on draught on April 11, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark reddish brown with a thick, long lasting white head. The aroma was thick with yeast and some sweet caramel malt. The mouthfeel was thick, creamy, and mildly carbonated. The flavour was brown sugar sweet, with some yeasty hints. Not quite as sickly sweet as a Samichlaus of Hardy's."

"Bottled. Clear, amber, carbonating, with a lasting, dense, creamy beige head. Banana, caramel, prunes, raisins, alcohol, candisugar and hints of cigars. Lovely, silky, warming mouthfeel with flavors of alcohol, dried fruits, yeast, candisugar, caramel, spices and ripe pears. Full-bodied and sweet. The finish has alcohol, spices and sugar. A hint of bitterness as well. Finally, when this quite quaffable beer is drunk, the lacings are still there. I love it. A lot. (061011)"
