"750 mL corked bottle:
Decants a hazy roiled honey-copper ale with Billowy white cap that reduces after a few sips to a lace-making ring.
Soft carbonation.
Aroma of succulent fruits, treacle, spices and sweet bread with some resinous undertones and some fusil alcohol.
Wonderful rounded mouth feel to this with abundant complexity in the flavour profile; raisin bread, caramel, orange rind, earthy tones, sharp resinous hopping, all mingling in balance. Finish is lingering and warming with a fruity-cake dominance.
A nice abbey triple done by a commercial brewer, I look forward to seeing how the 2 bottles I cellared will taste in a year or two. "

"A nice rocky head melts quickly into the coppery reddish fluid, leaving a nice ring of lace, but comes back after doing a swirl. Odors of bananas and malt tantalize the nostrils. Clean mild tastes of spice & citrus (apples or pears?) blend into a smooth texture on the buds. The finish has a nice spice bite to it that is sweet yet semi-dry at the same time. These monks sure know how to brew. Even if it's not a Belgian trappist.

"A Belgian style trappist brew that is not brewed in Belgium..........interesting. This is a dark brown beer that spews forth scents of plums, chocolate, and christmas type spices. The flavour echoes the aroma resulting in a great tasting beew."

"This hazy amber colored medium bodied ale had a tan colored head that did not last very long. Initially I smelled golden raisins and green apples, As I tasted the beer I was able to taste the alcohol, caramel, vanilla and some burnt sugar on the palate. All in all a good tasting beer."

"20oz draught
8.0% ABV
I tried this beer on January 17, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto. The beer poured a dark translucent golden brown with a thin tan head. The aroma consisted of sweet malt and vanilla. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was sweet malt, plums, a little caramel, and a little vanilla."
