Labatt Blue is the best selling Canadian beer in the world. Introduced in 1951 as Labatt Pilsener, it was named for the colour of its label by fans of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers football team. Blue was the first brand in Canada with a twist-off cap and won the silver medal in the International Lager category at the 1998 Brewing Industry International Awards. Labatt Blue is a well-balanced, fully matured, full flavoured beer with a fruity character and a slightly sweet after taste. Labatt Blue uses specially selected German aromatic hops and has no preservatives.

"You know you are on the Canadian/US border when you walk into a bar and all you see on the wall are Labatts and Molsen signs. That is usually a sign you are not going to be able to find something a brew on the micro side of the industry. That's when you just suck it up and make the best of it. Such was the case on my past trip to Rochester, NY. I ended up having Labatt Blue on multiple occasions for the first time since my college years some 10 years ago. It was as I remember it.
The beer is everything you expect from a pale lager. The color is pale yellow and watery looking. The beer has a decent level of carbonation in it and the bubbles rise up through the glass through your very last sip. The head on the beer is as white as white can be and disappears within seconds of pouring the beer. The aroma is that traditional aroma that is standard with all lager beers. It reminds me of days when my grandfather would take me to the American Legion and all the old guys were drinking their Narragansett brew.
The flavor is somewhat decent and drinkable. Clean, crisp and free of impurities, this Labatt Blue is a very consistently crafted brew from every time I've had it. Light malts and graininess is what I taste in this one with some very light hops to balance it out. It's kinda bland and watery if you ask me.
Overall, this is a fallback if you must drink beer and there's nothing micro around. I still think it beats the American alternatives of Miller Lite or Budweiser."

"Pale gold in color with a thick white head. Aroma is bubblegum, pepper, and perfume. Sweet, light grain flavor. Very crisp with a little bitterness at the end. Pretty decent."

"Labatt Blue is a Buffalo favorite. If you were to walk into any bar in Buffalo your sure to find Labatt Blue or Blue Light on tap or in bottles. Labatt Blue pours a light golden yellow with a big foamy head. It has good carbonation and clarity. The aroma is light with rice cereal malts and grassy straw like hops. The flavor is delicate with some sweet cereal malts up front that turn dry with a crisp citrusy bitter finish. "Blue" is light bodied thin and a highly drinkable Canadian pilsner. It's a great beer for watching hockey, [GO SABRES] or as an accompaniment to a traditional Buffalo style fish fry.

"An average Canadian pale lager. Pours a light golden color with a decent enough head. Not particular hoppy. Has a crisp, light malt flavor that while not noteworthy is certainly not offensive. Just a good drinking beer."
