"650 ml bottle, label as in picture.
Orange and gold color, slightly cloudy a thick, solid head, nice retention. Thin sticky lacing.
Solid hop aromas, citrus, pink grapefruit, very nice. Lots of hop flavor, but not alot of maltiness to keep in balance. Citrus, some pine, bitter aftertaste. Good carbonation, decent mouthfeel. Pretty good all around, just not quite enough to make it great. Hopefully we get more Lagunitas seasonals to compare against."

"First off, I really enjoyed the Zappa tribute on the label; certainly tok me back to the late sixties. This poured a fairly cloudy and dark gold colour underneath a foamy white two-fingered head. The aroma was a nice combination of hops and malt. The taste was much more of hops than malt, with the right amount of bitterness. Mouthfeel was okay, but I did think it was bit on the 'gritty' side. Finish was a bit on the sweet side; not bad and overall better than I expected, given some of the slagging that Launitas beers have taken on this site. "

"Nice apricot colour with some opaqueness, light carbonation and an average sized offwhite rocky head. So-so retention but suprisingly good bubbly lacing. The aroma is excellent with its aromatic sweet candy grapefruit hops (quite candy-like), canned peaches and lichi nuts and a hint of flowery yumness - one of the better smelling Lagunitas brews. It has a good fresh flavour. Noticable floral hops (?) - very bitter! Yum yum! Some malt and a slight peppermint taste is also detected. I can't directly taste the alcohol but it's there. Even though it does taste pretty good it still falls short on interest. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy with an excellent bitter finish."

"Beer pours a bright hazy brow when held up the light it appears to be bronze in color a off white fluffy head was produced that had some pretty good retention, this beer looks yummy. Very hoppy aroma as to be expected, grape fruit hops and a caramel malt back bone are making my mouth drool, can’t wait for the first sip. Brew starts off sweet and then finished with a dry bitterness, lots of citusy hops that are almost candy sweet, and a malt flavor that reminds me of leather (in a good way) I would have not say the after taste is tart and I’ve never had that before. This is highly enjoyable it’s pretty much a standard IPA but this is a very high quality one that is well balanced. Review done while watching Canada’s worst handy man."

"Okay, admittedly I am a Frank Zappa zombie. Anything this guy has released is either genius or damn close. So when Lagunitas released this in honor of Zap's 40th anniversary of his lp Freak Out, I was there. The fact this beer is probably my favorite Lagunitas product is sheer coincidence......right? Anyways, the aroma is very perfumy, citrusy with enough sweetness to round it all out. Flavor profile was very much the same way. I got lots of citrus (mostly lemon rinds), some tropical fruit and alcohol. If this had just been released as another Lagunitas IPA, it'd probably get a bit lower scores. But damnit if they didn't put my guy Zappa on there as a tribute. So what's next? Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch DIPA?"
