"12 oz bottle, bottled wk1 of August. Pours hazy golden copper with a fizzy white head that quickly diminishes to a thin collar that leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is spices - cinnamon, nutmeg and other pumpkin pie spices.
The flavor is a bit off. Spices are present, but there is a sweet vegetal malt and some earthy bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, I really liked the smell of the beer - the flavor, not so much."

"Aroma is of some pumpin and some strong cinnamon and nutmeg and is reminiscient of gingerbread and some Holiday spice. Appearance is a cloudy, amber to orange when held to the light with a full, creamy head on top that is well-carbonated and bleach-white in color and leaves lacing. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied wih some decent malty balance with a palate that is clean and crisp and wet-like. Flavor is of strong spice and pumpkin and some nutmeg and cinnamon with an aftertaste that is spicy and refreshing and a finish that is clean and offers some slight brown sugar. Overall, decent Holiday lager here and would probably be better if it were colder outside, recommended... "

"Poured lightly hazy and a gold-tinged pumpkin color with a very slight white head with no retention. The nose is more spice than pumpkin - nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. Full smooth mouthfeel and surprisingly pleasant flavors; this is not an overdone or overspiced version of this often-attempted and often-failed style. There is a solid malt foundation under a tart and mildly-spiced faint pumpkin presence and a sweet-sour finish. The combination works for me; I was expecting more trick than treat but was rewarded with the latter."

"A slightly vigorous pour into my 25cl tulip glass produces a fat, three-finger thick, pale tan colored head that sits atop a brilliantly clear, reddish, copper colored beer. The beer is obviously spiced with the typical pumpkin pie spices as the aroma even as I pour it is quite redolent of cinnamon, nutmeg and perhaps a touch of ginger. A deeper sampling of the aroma yields nothing more than these spices and perhaps a touch of dusty malt.
Fairly dry, with perhaps a hint of sweetness that just peeks through a tart spice character. Spice flavors of nutmeg & cinnamon dominate, but there is perhaps a touch of character that might be attributed to pumpkin, but only just barely. There is a ginger note noticeable in the finish as well as a slightly astringent spice bitterness. Crystal malt contributed caramelized sugar flavors and a medium / light malt fullness help convey the pumpkin pie analogy a bit further.
This is certainly an enjoyable version of a Pumpkin beer, and it does have actually have some pumpkin flavor to it, despite the slightly heavy handed spicing. This is a touch richer, and a bit more like desert that say something like Buffalo Bill’s Pumpkin ale, but it still is to light to really be anywhere near representative of pie in a glass.
