"I first had this back in the 80s when it was brewed by Laker (I believe they were based in St. Catherines). This was one of the first price reduced beers in the province of Ontario..........and the product reflected that. Cheap tasting swill that should never touch the palate of man. I recently revisited this brew, and found very little change in my original sentiment."

"Tastes like Bud/Canadian and the like, has a hint of bitterness at the end but very very carbonated with not alot of body. If you like your water with a little kick, its not bad."

"Bravely drank from a mug. Weak pour, little head. Pale, clear yellow as expected. A damp and unfavourable aroma, luckilly very weak. Mouthfeel is hefty, texture a bit of a mess. I don't think they let these value lagers sit long enough before selling them. Flavours have not developed, carbonation is weak. Terrible really. Quite unfavourable in all aspects (even for a value brand) One of the worst I have had the (dis)pleasure of trying to date, and - odd as it feels to say it - would probably prefer domestic macro. "

[4] Review by Chopz from Cantley, Canada who has tried this beer a couple times. (9/7/2005 9:07:03 PM)
"Hadn't had this beer in a long time (back when the label was black). Now, everything is blue with a maple leaf too (blue as well). Sample from the can this time. Pours a golden light colour with a white head. Not much retention, but creamy lace on the side of the glass. There is hardly any aromas to this beer. Watery mouthfeel. The taste at first is kind of weird. Expecting caramel, but instead get some bitterness... mixed with some sourness. Then it goes down smooth. Light malt aftertaste. Remember it better the first time."
