"330ml bottle
6.5% ABV
I tried this beer on June 28, 2008 after purchasing from the Queen's Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer pours a slightly translucent dark brown with a long lasting tan coloured head. The aroma was sweet malt and some spices. The mouthfeel is medoim bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is primarily malty, with a hoppy bitter finish, and in between, some peppery spiciness."

"A brown beer from Belgium. The head was thick, and rocky, and a lighter brown. The aroma was sweet malt, yeast, and caramel candy. The flavour was also slightly sweet with a malty taste that was overpowered in a way in a candy sense. It was a bit difficult to finish this beer."

"Pours a clear caramel coloured body with a medium sized, ice cream like head that has a vanilla colour. Aromas of vanilla as well as syrup and toast. flavors of pancakes, earth and walnuts. The head leaves a very sticky lacing. a tastey beer, a tad on the sweet side for me. but very enjoyable."

"This is one of my favorites. Does everything an Abbey beer should do--brilliant nose (one of the few that really does remind you of coffee), beautiful rich color, and a taste that lasts forever. Initial mouthfeel is rich, nutty, and moreish. Aftertastes of nuts, chocolate, and coffee. What more can one say?"

"Best before 01/08/07. Poured into a Leffe chalice.
Big beige head, heavy rocky froth. Deep dark brown, with mahogany edges.
Aromas of coffee, and a distinct salami-like gamey note.
Chewy Belgian malts, again the gamey note which brings in a subtle briney taste. Aftertastes include some floral/vegetal hop, with a medium bitterness. Drink it with antipasto....
Second mouthful, and I get a quick hint of charred steak. Some gamey caramelisation I guess. Strange but true. Drink it with BBQ beef...
Big effervescence in the mouth, slight lip tingle like sherbet lolly, medium body, and semi-sweet finish.
