"The Widdershins Oak Aged Barley Wine pours a nice dark golden brown color with a tan head. The aroma was of apples, pears and a hint of caramel malt. The taste was sweet and full. The mouthfeel is good, but could be a bit thicker. The flavors were of sherry, and caramel malt. A very good barley wine, but probably over priced."

"Orange clear appearance, almost no foam. Wonderful sweet malty aroma of peaches, apricot, syrup with a small note of grapefruit. Wonderful malty flavour peaches and yellow plums. Some US hops in the background. Oily and sweet but still very well-balanced finish."

"Poured a hazy orange brown color with a small, off white head that left some lacing on the glass. Aroma was a little oxidized, while still showing a decent hoppy profile, with some caramel, toffee, and light smoke, as well as citrus fruits, and alcohol. Taste of caramel malts, a tart citrus, dried fruits, with light roastiness, and more hops and alcohol in the finish."

"Tasted at the 2004 Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest. Light orange gold color. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is sweet with caramel and honey notes. A medium to full bodied barley wine. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are slightly spicy, and slightly bitter. Touches of orange and spice. Very smooth tasting. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Thanks Dr Bill."
