A classic Belgian favorite. Black currants have been used for centuries as an ingredient in beers and liqours in Belgium and Northern Europe.
Taste: Deep reddish-purple color with exceptional aroma, flavor, and complexity. Fuller bodied and soft, while still being refreshing and crisp.
Serving suggestions: Venison, roasted pork tenderloin with rosemary cream sauce, scones, New York style cheesecake, and fresh fruit.

"This beer poured a dark red, almost purple color with a thin head. It had a strong berry aroma with hints of grape. It had a slightly sour berry flavor and tasted like a Lambrusco."

"Good pour! Dark pink / purple head with lots of messy lacing sitting on top of a thick looking purply brew. The aroma is ok but the currant is quite mild and I wish there was a bit more to give this beer a larger presence. What fruit that is found is very good but it is just way too mild. Taste is a let down. I like the currant flavour and the tartness. Fairly one dimensional. What annoys me is that on some sips I get the strong flavour of something that is resembling the taste of blood a bit too closely. It comes and goes. When it is not there this is a very enjoyable brew although pretty plain. Soft carbonation, wonderful feeling swish - actually, I've figured it out - excessive swishing brings on the blood taste. I know someone is reading this and seeing the word blood - listen up, it's the only thing I can think of to describe that distinct flavour so tough tits for you. i enjoyed this beer as all the Lindemans are good drinking beers but this one is the weakest I've had so far."

"Beer should not be available in quantities this small..........especially at alcohol levels less than 5%. This beer pours a dark purplish colour with a thin white head. The aroma is heavy on the dark fruit, with some malt. The flavour is grapish, with a sourness. "

"Cork made a loud popping sound when it was removed startling me a little (ok I might have screamed like the time beercronic saw the rat in the cave). Body of the beer is deep purple and a girlish pink cap sits on top. Aroma is fruity and soapy with elements of black currant jam. Flavor is mostly consisting of black currant and has a good balance of sweet and sour. Flavor reminds me of something from my child hood but can’t put my finger on what. Flavor is much simpler than the other Lindeman’s I’ve sampled and not as powerful of a flavor but its still high quality. "

"250ml bottle
3.50% ABV
I tried this on May 20, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This poured a purplish-black with a whitish head, which quickly faded. The aroma was primarily black currant with sour blueberries and grapes in the mix. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, and highly carbonated. The flavour was a mix of sour grapes, black currants, and finished off with some hoppy bitterness.
While this is classified as a beer, it was more of a low-alcohol wine experience......but a great experience."
