Corruption, Greed, and Lust. They're all represented on the hooks of today. Tomorrow, they'll be stinging Gluttony, Desire, and Sloth. Go ahead. Tell yourself you're better than all of them. But you can't. Hell can be funny like that. Down here it's all just sin. Everyone here is screwed just like you. They don't care who you sliced, diced, or cheated. No on is escaping this heinous place
Your roommate is an ax murderer. Eerily, he's not threatening. How can he be? Here, the Fallen Angel owns your body, mind and soul. As such, no one can take your life. It's already been taken. Or was it given? Neither matters. Did you seriously think you were living a virtuous life. At least Satan serves beer in Hell. He brews it himself right there in that flame stoked cauldron. Rumor has it the beer is straw yellow, bone dry and simply labeled Inferno.

"Bottle courtesy of Bu11zeye: Poured a deep golden color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma consists of semi-sweet Belgian-style malt with some light alcohol but no fruity ester as I had expected. Taste is a mix between some sweet Belgian malt with some hint of alcoholic phenols but no signs or fruity yeast ester or floral hops notes. Full body with good carbonation and some alcohol showing. I can’t say that this is bad but it is still somewhat short from Duvel."

"A murky yellow appearance with a white head. The aroma contains some spices with some lemons, biscuits, and hay. The flavor is somewhat sour with some lemons and spices about. Overall not bad but not the best Lost Abbey for sure."

"This Belgian Strong Ale pours a slightly hazy medium orange gold color from a corked 750ml bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet with some spices. A medium bodied BSA. The malts are fruity and sweet, subtle banana and clove flavors throughout. There is a touch of pepper at the finish. The hops are floral and fairly noticeable, again mostly at the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. "

"A soft pour produces a fat, two-finger thick, pale, off-white colored head in my 25cl tulip glass. The beer is a hazy honey color and shows a fully hazed (the haze is substantially, though not completely contributed by chill-haze), yellow-gold color when held up to the light showing a fair amount of carbonation winding its way up through the haze. The head leaves some spotty, layered lacing on the sides of my glass as I work my way through this beer. The aroma has a light floral character to it that is evocative of light honey notes, soft pear, a touch of sour plum and apple aromatics and a touch of an herbal edge. Sweet grain aromatics combine with a touch of a cracker-like, lightly toasty grain character. A touch of spicy phenolics and esters seem to contribute more to the floral character than being particularly noticeable in and of themselves, though there is a soft vanilla note here.
Pretty dry tasting, but there is a touch of malt & alcohol sweetness towards the finish. The flavor is led in by a dry, cracker like grain character, then some honey like malt, some warming & spicy higher alcohols, including a bit of sharpness (not quite harshness) of alcohol in the finish. While pretty light bodied, it does have a touch of weight to it that clings just a bit to the palate, the carbonation adds a nice persistent tickle of texture. Some fruitiness comes in towards the finish where a mix of green apple, aromatic pear, a touch of almost-ripe honeydew melon and perhaps a hint of star-fruit. The finish definitely has a pepper character to it, it is also slightly phenolic with a light turpene-leaning clove character and a touch of dried ginger.
As the beer warms up the aroma opens up quite a bit; I really like the mix of substantial pale malt aromatics and how they mix with the aromatic floral notes, honey aromas and substantial pear-like fruitiness. The general fruitiness seems to pick up in the flavor over time as well. This definitely is a good Duvel-inspired interpretation, it captures quite a bit of the best characteristics of the style, though it can be a touch hot at times. I still prefer Vinnie's interpretation (Damnation), but this could probably use 6 months to a year of bottle age before it peaks.
