"i can't believe this one ranks as high as it does...in a word...boring. i like Lost Coast, but think this is their weakest brew. quail springs was a better english IPA...if this one is supposed to be a west coast version, it fails horribly. i want the aroma of an ipa to inspire me, this one does not. the flavor isn't bad, but far from special. more hops please!"

"Gotta say I enjoyed every sip of this beer. Darker than many IPAs--closer to brown than orange. Aroma is all hops, very piney and citrusy. Taste is a lot of the same but with strong malt backbone since it isn't overpoweringly bitter. Wish I could get more of this in North Dakota."

"Pours a very hazy brown color with a nice fluffy off-white head. Aroma is really faint, rather fresh, with some caramel malt and maybe a grainy scent. Sweet caramel malty flavor with some bitter fruity hops following. Not necessarily an in your face aggressive hoppy kind of IPA but nicely balanced and well-rounded. "

"Pours a nice semihazy orange/copper color with a beige head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine. Tastes like it smells, with a bit of spice. A balanced finish and hoppy bite to the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium/full."

"Don't know why this beer doesn't get more love that it does. It clearly is a well made IPA and maybe if it weren't for the odd looking label, this would get a bit more looks at it. The aroma is spicy/piney hops, a clean (ablbeit subdued) malt bill with an underlying amount of cat piss. Appearance is copper in color with a nice two-finger thick off-white head. Flavor has a healthy dose of piney/spicy hop character to it with an equally healthy balance of caramel malts. Again, I wish I could give half points on this site. Very nice beer."
