"One thing I've failed to do much of on this site is review the standard microbrews that I drink when some of the high end or rare microbrews are not available at a drinking establishment. In this case it's time to review Magic Hat #9. I'm really going to have a hard time with this one because it is probably the first non Budweiser or Molson product I've ever had. Back then it was awesome. Compared to the beers I drink now though, I'm not so sure anymore.
No matter how you get it (bottle or draught), the beer comes out with a very small white head that, when consumed, leaves a feint white lacing behind on the glass. Nothing overly impressive and most of the time I end up just drinking it out of the bottle, since it's not one of those beers you must drink out of the glass. The beer has a light amber color to it with a hint of orange tinting when held up to the light. The aroma varies from time to time. The base aroma is that of apricots. Sometimes it smells fresh and fruity and sometimes it's a little on the pungent side. It really lacks consistency.
The mouthfeel has some tingle to it. The carbonation level it is served with is usually on the high side. The flavor is pretty good and I like the drinkablity. Instead of a fruit beer, I like to think of this as a standard American Pale Ale with mild apricot flavoring on top of it. I really don't think it is sweet. That's probably why I ask for it when it's available. It drinks well, it's cheap, and it tastes pretty good. "

"A cloudy yellow color with a moderate white head. The aroma is fruity with some apricot and peaches showing through. Smells alot like Fruity Pebbles. WILMA!!! The flavor contains a whirl freaking wind of fruit such as peaches, apricots, and lemons. Some citrus as well. The finish is slightly sour. Overall I enjoyed this one. "

"Interesting flavor, has a pretty strong aftertaste of apricot. I really wasn't too impressed by this beer, but I enjoyed trying it. Interesting, but nothing too great in my opinion."

"Knoxville Brewers' Jam 2008. Pours a light golden yellow with a thin head and little lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas of sweet fruits - peaches, apricots, some berries - then some slight malts with very little hops. Taste is easy with a peachy fruitiness with some malts."
