"Deep chestnut/amber pour with a 3/4" tan head and layered lacing, a wonderful appearance to be modest. Fruity plums and sugary raisins countered by an aroma of flowers and fresh, earthy yeast. Medium bodied and smooth. Calmly balanced with an enjoyable aftertaste. Flavors of heavily fermented dark fruits and sweet caramel. Light coffee taste with some vanilla hints. Nice treat."

"This brew poured a very nice mahogany with a tan head. The aroma is of dark fruit with hints of spice and malt. The mouthfeel is full-bodied. The flavor is dark fruit including plums with spice. Overall, a very drinkable doubble. I will again."

"A striking mahogany color, slightly hazy, with a linear ascension of miniscule bubbles from the bottom of the Maredsous flute. The thin, creamy tan head leaves light lace. Semi-sweet brown sugar, winey aromas. This is a very solid dubbel; nothing flashy or robust, but stealthily solid. Flavors are perhaps a little dull, but well-blended and tasty. Reserved and clean aromas, and a soft, medium-light mouthfeel. Flavors of malt and dark fruit, with a slight hop bitterness and a warm finish. MUSIC: 'Stepping Stone' by Duffy "

"I sampled this one on a recommendation from my friend who really enjoys it. Although it looked nice with a deep mohogany colored body with a medium tan head, the smell and taste were dominated by alcohol, so much that nothing else was present. now i like beer with high alcohol content but this wasnt enjoyable, i will try this one again & re-review it."
