A barley wine brewed with: water, malt (pils and caramunich), candy sugar, hops (nugget, cascade and centennial) and ale yeast. Big Worse is the long awaited big brother of the small test brew Big Bad Barley Wine. The idea behind Big Worse is still to make a simple yet heavy barley wine - just like it’s smaller brother. But this time both the alcohol and bitterness has been pumped up! Big Worse is both thick and sweet and is the perfect beer for desserts. Enjoy it now or keep it for many years. Best stored dark and at cellar temperature.

"Pours with a cloud, amber body topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing. It’s sweet and malty with a hint of candy sugar, a little spice and a nice hoppy bitterness. A nice overall Barleywine. Full bodied and slightly warming."

"Cool looking 12.7 ounce corked bottle. Pours a brown/amber color with a very nice initial tan head that settles to a foamy ring. Aroma is caramel, molasses, dark fruits and alcohol. The flavor is sweet raisins and figs, some caramel and molasses with quite a bit of hop bitterness, especially towards the finish. The beer is a little hot, I'm not going to say the alcohol is hidden, but at 12% that's kind of expected and I like the fact that there is never a dull moment here. Definitely a sipper but I like it. "Bottle courtesy of Fonefan: Poured a deep lightly hazy copper color ale with a nice foamy head with medium retention and no lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops is dominating with some light pear and some alcohol. Taste is a mix between some grapefruit hops, light caramel malt with phenols of alcohol. Medium body with average carbonation and some apparent alcohol which I didn’t appreciate. Interesting take on the American barleywine style with a nice hops combination but I could do without all that alcohol."

"(Green's Trip: 08') Apparently this will be my first barleywine from Belgian but BP seems to say it is from Denmark but either way; I am looking forward to this one. Aroma on this one is of caramelized brown sugar and candied dark fruit with some stronger hoppy bitter coming through as well as some tartness. Appearance is a cloudy and darker, red to rustic-orange in color when held to the light with a full head on top that is off-white in color and leaves uneven lacing on the that is creamy and smooth. Mouthfeel is full-bodied and hearty and very well-rounded with nice harmony between complex maltiness and balanced bitterness with a palate that is clean and wet-like and thick. Flavor is of dark fruits as well as some caramelization with an aftertaste that is rich and smooth with some faint molasses and a finish that is honey-like and creamy with no alcohol coming through at all which is surprising. Overall, a fantastic barleywine here and highly recommended and a must for any beer geek."
