In this quite dark ale, dark malts provide flavors of coffee and dried fruit. Recommended serving temperature 10°C/50°F. Try with dark chocolate, cheese, or red meat dishes
Ingredients: Maris Otter, Munich, caramel, black malt, and chocolate malt; Centennial and Northern Brewer hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

"Yay! Rare beer for me! The first of 21.5L of beer that I brought back from Las Vegas in my childrens luggage.
Dumped out a massive brown crown even with a soft pour. Super dark brown brew. Keeps a decent amount hanging around but leaves almost no lacing :( The aroma is pretty obvious early on but does fade: lots of chocolate, quiet coffee, good amount of roast and I can swear that I have found orange hiding far in the background. The taste is more coffee than chocolate when warm but that flips after awhile. Good bitterness with a slight citrus and leafy hop taste. Some nutty taste as well. Not much else there but that is irrelevant cause it's just so damn drinkable. Smooth and higher than mid bodied; finishes dry and bitter. Pretty good. The down side - I've got a quarter of a glass filled with sediment and in this case this beer is much much better clean."

"Wow! I must admit that Nogne O Porter lives up to the hype it received. Big, thick and rich. Dark black hue with a whippy tannish head that takes forever to melt. Bold aromas of alcohol, roasted malt and nougat. Heavy doses of dark roasted chocolate malt give O Porter it's cocoa and molasses flavors. Coffee, earth and tobacco give a slight smokey quality to O. The ending was dry with a wee bit of hop bitterness. Definitely better that the Nogne O Barley Wine. And well worth the $15.00 I paid for it. Should have picked up another bottle to take home.

"Hadn't really expected much with this and was really suprised to find out how dry the beer was. There was really very little sweetness left, just a lot of ashy/roasted notes that I didn't find all that enjoyable. The beer looked great though. A nice thick black liquid with a creamy tan foamy head. Aroma smelled a lot like coffee too, with some dark chocolate notes too. I know I'm unabashed in my love of stouts, especially those on the sweeter side of things. This beer was clearly on the other end of the spectrum. But still, I did enjoy the beer and would get it again. "

"Pour was jet black with minimal head and lacing. Nice aroma of chocolate and roast with vinous notes. The flavor was rich chocolate and dark fruits with hints of roast and coffee. Really nice thick milkshake like mouthfeel. This was quite enjoyable, even if I had to sell my kids off for medical experimentation to pay for the bottle."

"A black appearance with a tan head. A roasty aroma with some coffee, chocolate, and other dark fruit. The flavor is somewhat bitter with some dark chocolate, coffee, and licorice notes. Overall this was a good porter.
