"My can's said best before Halloween/09 so logically I am presuming these are as fresh as can be. Likin' the dark gold app. I know most folks prefer these kinds of lagers, to say a Pilsner, but I don't. While in essence, this is one to be quaffed out of a glass, I'd rather drink it out of the can truth be told, cause that caramel taste just doesn't do it for me. "

"A very very drinkable microbrew with some very nice features. Nice pour and aroma, with a semi hoppy mouthfeel. Nice appearance as well, with a nice attack. Very nice upstart brewery... we expect good things!"

"I've never heard of Neustadt before...........the town or the brewery. Well, now I hear they have beer! The lager pours a rusty golden red with a white head that lingers. The aroma is caramel malt, some hops, and a little sugary sweetness, but not quite fruity. The flavour is more of the malt and sweetness, and just a tad bitter on the end."

"Bottle... filled while I waited at the brewery. Cracked 8 hrs later...poured a pale gold with a 1 finger white closely pored cap that goes to a sticky lace. Grassy-floral hop aroma some bready malts. Starts mellow mild with low carbonation and a light body, nice quality malt notes over standard hop balance, clean finish with bready aftertaste...very drinkable....nice micro lager but it swims against the stream trying to compete with Creemore and a dozen other local micro lagers....Neustadt has a great brewmaster I wish they would diversify and try to fill niches on some styles that are not so common in the mirco market. This is good lager but doesn’t really shine because there are so many good craft lagers here.
