You hold the marriage of wine and beer. Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This ale is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, balanced by hops we aged in our brewery one full year, and then aged in oak vats.
Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this ale uniquely "Wisconsin." So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this ale to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and boquet. Serve your friends Belgian Red in a brandy snifer or champagne flute and toast life with ale from the land of Wisconsin.

"Bottle. Poured a cloudy reddish-purple color with a light white head. No lacing. Aroma is very strong with a nice sour cherriness to it. Mouthfeel is excellent as it is very smooth. Flavor is a nice tart cherry taste with a nice sour aftertaste. An excellent beer."

"Pours a deep brown, almost opaque, with red highlights and a creamy, albeit small, head. Ripe cherry dominates the aroma; sweet malt plays a small role. The flavor is amazing. It's exactly what a fruit beer should be: beer perfectly balanced and complemented by fruit. Cherry brings both sweetness and tartness to the palate. Refreshing, medium-bodied and well carbonated. Thanks to pfoxyjohn for the awesome trade!"

"Beerpal review #1000. Sampled from bottle with generous thanks to pfoxyjohn. This beer has finally been checked off my wish list after much time and anticipation. A reddened-brown with a sudsy head that dissipates to leave trace amounts of lacing. The aroma is more subtle than I would have guessed. Mild, tart cherries mingle with some floral and earth notes. Intense, but by no means artificial, cherry flavor. There's malt as well. This is still a beer - not a perversion of wine inundated with cherries. Sweet, but that perception is lessened by tartness. Appears to be without late hop additions - a good move here. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated. Worth the wait, no matter the length of the wait."

"From the bottle. Pours a hazy dark red/brown with a nice tan head. Aroma of cherries (naturally, sweet and slightly sour. Flavor is amazing. Excellent sourness to counteract the sweetness of the cherries. Generally not a fan of fruit beers, but this is excellent. Think it would be great to give to wine lovers. Thanks to Dansting for bringing this bottle back from WI."

"Courtesy of pfoxyjohn - the New Glarus man!
Pours a deep reddish hazy color with a thin head but lots of lacing. Some carbonation. Aroma is of sweet, tart cherries and berries and some malts. Taste is overwhelmingly cherries, but I love cherries, so this is fantastic. Another winner from New Glarus. Thoroughly enjoyable."
