"A nice looking pour of red-tinged deep black coffee-colored stout, with a creamy tan head. A nose of well-roasted malt and sweet brewed coffee aroma. A velvety texture and creamy full body. Sweet cappuccino and chocolate flavors surround robust roasted malt. A little tinge of tannic metal coffee-cup leads to a big, long, slightly bitter coffee finish. Wonderful."

"This one poured a dark brown color with rich tan head. Beautiful lacing. The flavor was strong and smooth. I really enjoyed this one! and wouldn't hesitate too buy again. Coffee taste was subtle yet noticable. A great stout!"

"Bottle courtesy Bockyhorsey. Pour was a primarily flat brown-black, not much else going on initially or after a few minuts. The aroma was coffee, light roast. The flavor was coffee and light roasted malt notes underneath, but not much complexity. For being a straight "coffee" sout, this wasn't rich or impressive enough to warrant any raves, yet it wasn't foul, nasty, off, or stale to catch any ire. Mouhtfeel was only moderate, not thick, not thin. Appearance was unimpressive, otherwise, a decent average coffee stout. Thanks, Bill and Wendy!"

"Bottle courtesy of Monger: Poured a clear black color stout with a nice big foamy brown color head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of dry coffee is dominating but not to the point of being gross. Body is a bit light with some great carbonation. Definitely not en extreme example of a coffee stout but a well balance example that I wouldn’t mind having access to on amore regular basis."

"Another incredibly satisfying, well made beer from the guys in New Glarus. I was consuming this beauty at the Oakland Raiders parking lot before their pre-season game against the St. Louis Rams and I don't know if your environment can make the beer taste better, but it sure did try. The beer pours out a charcoal black, medium thick creamy head. Aroma was coffee mostly (of course), but to me it smelled almost like a powdered coffee/cocoa blend. Not bad, but definitely not a knockout punch either. First sip and you get that blast of coffee pounding your tastebuds. After that gets done, out comes the dark chocolate, toffee (reminded me a bit of a Skor candy bar) and a bit of earthyness. New Glarus always does it right. Excellent stout. Recommended."
