Generally available to the exclusive few who travel off the beaten path of Belgium this is truly a sour ale. A ridiculously long lager in in our oak casks elevates rich round caramel malts backed with distinctive tart notes.

"Being a chef, I have come to appreciate a myriad of flavors. Most people who tasted this beer did not appreciate the yeast used. I believe a sour-dough starter was used in this ale. I received 3 four-packs for CHRISTmas and was immediately addicted to the flavor. This ale is not just sour, it has complexity of flavours and would consider the brewmaster, Daniel Carey a visionary. Brilliant. Excellent with Strong Cheeses, Beef and even some sweets (shortbread, etc)"

"04.27.05 12oz bottle thanks to Facto. Hideous, muddied brown pour with zero head. If I wasn’t so anxious to try this one, I’d be totally put off by the appearance. Almost completely unique aroma is sweet, acetic, caramelized onion, wet wood, something like cinnamon. Wierd. It oddly reminds me of Heavyweight Baltus OVS, and I say oddly because I never thought I’d find a beer that reminded me of the latter. Flavor is mostly vinegar, but in a not so bad way, and tons of butter, but in an oaky way. Mouthfeel is slick, besides being acetic. Cherry notes try to peek through. I can’t say I totally get this brew, and I won’t say I think it comes together well. But it’s wierdly addictive, much like the Baltus. Thanks for this one Matt!"

"thanks to my friend in wisconsin
Pours a murky brown with a head that quickly disappears. THe flavor is naturally sour, but finishes beautifully in your mouth. the low carbonation makes this very drinkable and tasty. "
