This dark ale is a fusion of a scottish ale and an English Stout, and to underline the international lines, it is brewed using American hops. Styrbords Stout contains two types of roasted malt, that besides the color lends the beer notes of coffee and chocolate. It is added a small amount of smoked malt, that makes this beer harmonate well with smoked and barbequed foods. The American Amarillo hops adds together with the English First Gold notes of citrus and peaches. Inspite of the relatively high alcohol content and the dark malts, styrbords stouten is a mild and easily drinkable beer, that easily can be enjoyed by itself.

"A pitch black beer with a brown shine under a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, as well as light notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty and rather roasted, which gives it a dryness, but also with notes of chocolate, and a touch of caramel, leading to a dry bitter finish."
