A celebration of Nøgne Ø achieving batch #100. We do this by brewing a particularly uncompromising double IPA. With Columbus hops and 80 IBU we can guarantee that this is a beer for connoisseurs!

"the pic is right, but this is a hoppy barleywine-not a 2ipa! 80 ibu and 10% also correct. aroma is hop forward...similar hop profile to Alaskan, but hoppier. aroma is more hops than malt, but well balanced. pours dark and a little murky. flavor is still hop forward, but a good amount of chocolate malt makes for a tasty treat. a touch thin, but very smooth, with a lingering dry bitter finish."

"Simply put this was nothing short than amazing.... This had one of the biggest and most pleasing noses on any beer I have ever had.. Huge pine and Citrus floral that actually filled the room when it was poured into my glass.. Orange brown with a very nice thick off white head that lasted . Ample carbonation that helped the drinkability out being that this is a very hoppy beer. Fantastic balanced hoppy goodness going on here.. Lots of pine and grapefruit noted, but it was also malty and sweet. I found myself comparing it to 90min. The depth of the beer makes me think that it is neither a IIPA or a Barleywine...

"Poured a light brown/orange color with okay head which left a thin covering through out the beer. Aroma was of pine hops caramel malts some light citrus. Flavor was much the same HUGE hops for sure, but there was more malts in there then I expected Very good beer.

"Another great Vegas trip find!
Poured out a freaking HUGE head - light brown and thick that leaves some messy lacing and still has surface coverage after 5 minutes. Really dark brown brew too. The smell is pretty nice but seems quite mellow for a BW. Molasses, caramel and a wack of malts including a mild chocolate, dark fruit, dark orange, sweet candy, nice thick citrus - very active nose. Great taste that does not have a painful amount of aggressive hops. Huge and heavy caramel and biscuit malts complimented with an early mouthfull of strong hops which bow out to the malts. Hops early - malt middle - hop finish. Pine, some grapefruit, lemon, licorice, more stuff. The taste is massive, just as you would expect. As this warms it becomes very intense with the hops steamrolling the malts lead by pine. Somehow I can detect a saltiness. A very smooth mouth feel with lots of long lingering bitterness. Leeaves a very nice coating in the mouth. Hey - there is the 10% - it was hiding in my bloodstream. Oh man, I think I need to eat at some point today as my motor skills have declined sharply. The Lagavulin 16ys Scotch and JW Lees Harvest I'm about to have won't help out much! Booyah!"

"Bottle from SL. Pour was ruby-orangey-brown in color, decent initial head that sustained itself as a thin covering, mainly a ring after a few minutes. The aroma was caramel malts with citrus-piney hops detectable. The flavor followed suit, a full bodied barleywine, big malty brew with a good hop balance, yet nothing like an imperial ipa, although my bottle is probably aged a year (or more?). Good carbonated balance to the mouthfeel, nicely done, good drinkability."
