Myrica Ale is a unique beer, based on a re-creation of medieval brewing practices.Before the introduction of hops to The British Isles from France in the 17th century, brewers used aromatic local herbs to flavour their products and then added honey to balance their bitterness. Myrica Ale is flavoured with aromatic Bog Myrtle (myrica gael) one of these traditional flavourings, harvested from freely growing plants in Ireland's Kerry countryside. A splash of honey provides the finishing touch to this light and delicately scented echo of our past.
