"O.k, from reading the other reviews, I'm convinced that I must have picked up a skunky bottle. Mine was bitter and almost vinegarish in flavor.I'm going to have to give this one another try."

"Pours a dark black with a thin lacing that is caramel in color. Aroma is coffee beans, chocolate, oak. Taste oak and coffee, not bold but mellow. Little bit of malts and roasted caramels."

"A brown beer with a disappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of wood and prunes, while the flavor is sweet and dominated by the wood, but also some roasted notes. But the body is thin."

"
From notes:
Pours a very dark brown, that's night quite pitch black, with some red highlights around the edges. The head peaks at about one finger, but falls quickly to a thin ring.
Smell; the oak come through very well in the aroma, and there's a pretty strong presence of vanilla. Some roasted malts come through with a little coffee and some chocolate.
Taste; vanilla and oak are all I could taste at first, and I was a little put off. But once ths warmed up a bit, some nice roasted coffee and chocolate start to creep out, as well as little bit of dark fruits.
Mouthfeel is bit on the thin side for a stout, but the drinkability is pretty darn good."

"This black brew has amber brown highlights and an insignificant head that quickly dwindles to nothing. The aroma is a strong lemony vanilla. Flavors include coffee, chocolate, and vanilla with a little yeasty tang. No sweetness, but a pleasant, amiably mild bitterness. Very good."
