As you pour this rich golden ale into your glass, consider your surroundings. Are you in a restaurant? Outside on the deck? Is it hot and humid? Cold and brisk? Take a drink. Feel the way Hennepin is bright and lively in your mouth with a warming mix of spicy gingersnap and citrusy hops. Refreshing. Relaxing. It's true: no matter where you are, Hennepin is the perfect ale for all seasons.

"This my Favorite brew from Ommegang. Usually I get the bomber and settle in for a nice evening with this one. This is the one brew that brought me into the Belgian styles.
Aroma is sharp, sweet/bitter citrius. Lemon, grapefruit, and a hint of sage. Flavor is spiced with clove, with a light note of sweet bananna. Mellow hopps and creamy lemon merangue, grapefruit, and ginger. Great serious session brew. I throw this one onto those new to craft brew and it is almost always a winner. Mouthfeel is textured velvet and though it is great by itself, pairs well with so many recipies. You can have this with a good burger or filet minion. Buttery to savory. Finish is clean, refreshing, mellow hopps, lemongrass, and earthy tones.
Good go to brew and one of my Ommegang favorites.
Slainte!!!"

"I REALLY liked this beer. My friend swore I have had this beer before but I would've remembered it. This beer smelled a tad funky and is mildly acidic. This beer had hints of peach and berries and slightly resembled a typical Trapist tripel. I would highly recommend this beer."

"I have not had a saison beer before, but if this is an example of the style, I won't be having one again. Appearance is really nice but there is no aroma or taste. This is a poor copy of a belgian ale. On its own, it's average. This brewer needs to stick to what they do best... making Duvel."

"Not bad - not great. The over-powering aroma and flavor of banana kinda put a damper on it for me. That could be toned down a bit without losing anything. Nothing can mask the alcohol flavor."

"May have been my first Saison, so didn't know exactly what to expect. This is sort of what I expected though... a grassy, grainy, yeasty beer that is fresh off the barnyard. Pale yellow/slight gold appearance that is mostly clear. Aroma is grassy, with citrus and yeast. Also noticed some banana in both the smell and taste. Good carbonation as well. Thought this would be a little better than it was, but grew on me towards the end. "
