Named after a Brussels bar made famous as the starting point for bicycle and pigeon races, our Rare Vos Amber Ale is also a great place to begin your virtual taste test. As you pour, you'll notice the beautiful coppery-amber color and the rich creamy head. Lift the glass to your mouth and enjoy the aroma of spicy orange blossoms. Taste, and the pleasant mellow flavor of caramel malt glides easily into a dry, hop finish. Once you've finished, start again (after all, this isn't a race).
Intended for the café as well as the dinner table, Rare Vos is an amber ale of medium color and strength. It sports aromas and flavors of caramel, orange, hops, plus an elusive fruity-yeasty flavor which will have you tasting in circles.

"Smells of yeast and bourbon. Amber ale that pours thin with lots of bubbles and a foamy head. Taste is flat. There's yeast and bread. Light body. Mouthfeel is thin. That's about it. This is what I would call a junk ale. Good but not great. For the price it's just PK. "

"Comes out of the tap a pretty clear amber with a fine off-white head. I did not get much, but this was doubtless a product of how it was poured. Sweetish aroma is malty and strong and has a subtle butterscotch undertone. Mouth-filling flavor is yeasty and malty and has a fruity undertone with a hint of butterscotch and a whisper of sweetness. Texture is tingly, fizzy and lively."

"This brew poured a reddish amber color with a substantial white head that didn't last very long. The aroma ia nice nut, bread, sweet malts, some orange with a nice hint of alcohol. The flavor is malty sweetness and alcohol and a light citrus. The mouthfeel is light to medium. Overall tasty but a bit pricy for the brew."

"Medium bodied light amber-gold color. Tastes of caramel, yeast, light hops....like the typical Belgian Ale. Being from NY and all, may be a little "Americanized" if that makes any sense. I've only had maybe a few REAL Belgian's imported from Europe, so hard to tell the true comparison. A good beer that isn't super-expensive. I would buy again if it was the best thing available to me, or if just in the mood for a Belgian without paying $8-$10 a bottle. Also tried this in the 750ml....might have been slightly better than the 12oz."
