Cynics can't believe it, Epicures hail it a sensation, and Pythagoreans just can't add up what makes this luscious blend of rich malty ale and cherry lambic so delightful. It might be the flavor of dark chocolate and cherry cordials; it could be the way it acquires wisdom and grace in the cellar. Maybe it's a conundrum. What's your theory?
The essence of wonder is a unique and masterful blend of strong malty ale and authentic Belgian Kriek. Our philosophers deduce that this powerful marriage of cherries, roasted malts, and dark chocolate will only achieve more wisdom and coherence as it broods in the dark recesses of your cellar.

"Pours a deep reddish-brown that is not neccessarily that appealing - but not hateful either. Very thin head that dissapates quickly, but produces a very nice lacing. Very nice flavors of chocolate, cherries and caramel... velvety smooth. Flavor is the highlight followed closely by the smooth mouthfeel."

"Poor head retention - yup. Dark cherries - yup. Pours easy, dark, and tan. Aroma of dark cherry, but more bitter than sweet. Maltiness is dense and well balanced with the hops. Quite spicy, but I like the spiciness. Finish is quick yet robust. Alcohol is more evident in the moment after it finishes. Very sharp with an almost bitter bite, but the dark cherry offsets this and balances it out enough without ruining the body. Mouthfeel is velvet and full of character. A small symphony of notes that keeps you waiting for the next pull. Vanilla and cinnamon are evident throughout. This is my first bottle and I am wanting to put more into enjoying it that rating it. Definately a must try for quad fand and Ommegang fans alike."

"This is a fresh brown ale with a rich, creamy head . It has a thick syrupy body and a taste of black cherries, malt and brown sugar. The finish is warm and sweet . Simply terrific. By the way, I hate lambics."

"I cannot believe I have not reviewed this beer - I have had it many times now. In any event, this may be, in my opinion, the best American Belgian Abbey Quadrupel mimic. To that end, the lower scores are because it is just that - a mimc. I would still try it if you find it."
