Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

"Yeah!! I finally found some of this stuff. Pretty standard imperial stout look jet black with a thin dark cap, some lace left behind. Aroma was a little unusual hints of olives? and roasted nuts. Mouthfeel was nice and thick, good coating. Flavor similar to aroma slightly sweet, a little nuttiness, alcohol is definetly present. Overall its pretty good but not an upper tier imperial stout."

"Yet another Impy stout for yet another cold and drizzly night here in the Southeast and I do look forward to this one given the fact Oskar Blues is new to the Peach State. Anyway, here is how my review goes. The aroma is of roasty maltiness, sweetness, chocolately, coffee-like, as well as some mocha coming through with some dry-hopped overtones and maybe some creaminess as well as some vanilla. The appearance is a jet-black but a very dark and murky, rich mahogany in color when held to the light but the light has a hard time shining through and has a medium-sized head on top that is medium-bodied and a light-tan in color and diminishes to a stringy lacing that coats the glass nicely. The mouthfeel is a bit thin but not too terribly bad and offers some decent malty and roasty complexity as well as some moderate balance with some hoppiness with a palate that is a bit thin but not bad at all. The flavor is a bit astringent but only slightly and offers some burnt coffee notes as well as some java or mocha with an aftertaste that is chocolatey to some extent with a finish that is smooth, creamy, and nutty but is lacking that robust kick at the end that comes with this style. Overall, not a bad impy stout here but it is a bit weak for the style and a bit thin and not complex enough nor bold enough; this brew almost is reminiscient of a impy porter but, nonetheless, not a bad offering from these guys as well as for the Fall and Winter season."

"Pours with a a black body topped by a light brown, thin head with little lacing. It’s slightly sweet and malty with a note of roasted coffee, chocolate and a touch of alcohol esters as well as bitter and hoppy notes. Full bodied, highly carbonated and a touch warming."

"Poured to a very black very thick oil look with an dark tan head that hung heavy to the edges. the aroma was reminded me of fermented wood. The flavor was roasted malts with a heavy earth flavor. this is a wonderful impy stout that has lived up to the hype. thanks to my good friends I have 2 cans left that I will cherish!"

"Bottle courtesy of Gford217: Poured a deep pitch-black color stout with a huge deep brown color head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of roasted malt with some vinous notes and some sweet notes. Taste is a mix between some vinous notes with some roasted malt and a quite sweet finish. I could not detect much coffee or black chocolate notes that I usually associated with the style. Full body with average carbonation and no discernable alcohol. Interesting sipper but I am not sure what the hype was all about really."
