Note: this is the same recipe as Barriquée Sour, but it doesn't get infected with lactobacillus bacteria and ages in sterilized barrels. This is the only version currently available outside of North America.

"Hazy nutbrown colour, mediumsized beige head. Arina if sour and dry fruits and a bit alcohol and nuts as well. Flavour is fruitish at first, then it turns butterish and caramellish. Flowery hops are domintaing in the finish. Aftertaste is fruits and nuts. Lovely balance. Some marsipan also noteable. "

"Poured a ruby color with a medium sized, creamy, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of cherry, oak, must, earth, and a bit of plastic. Taste of vanilla, more wood, cherries, berries, yogurt, and chocolate, with a very light tartness. "

"Bottle: Poured an hazy dark brown color ale with a medium head with average retention. Aroma of cookie dough is quite discreet with some Belgian yeast also noticeable. Taste of cookie dough malt but with limited sweetness with a weird slightly funky finish. Body is above average with no discernable alcohol. Not exactly sure what the brewery was trying to do but this one lacks characteristics."

"Bottle, RBESG 2005 Grand Tasting. Cloudy brown colour. Strong brandy-like aroma, oaky and alcoholic like hell. Extremely oaky flavour, not too sweet. Apparently the sour version (infected with lactobacillus bacteria, available only in North America) tastes quite different, even though it is based on the same recipe."
