Double the bark, double the bite. Double Surly is a dark cousin of our triple. It'll have you salivating like a rabid dog.

"Bottle: Rather clear red-cola color with a very light cap that does not last long. Faint nose: wisps of dark candi sugar, caramel malts...very faint. Flavor profile...seems a tad sweet with the Candi sugar and thin on malts, hops are non existant...the yeast does produce some nutty tastes that offset the smokey molasses but overal this is a kind of thin uneventful dubbel. If you were expecting Bernardus Pater you will miss the value of this ale...it is a very approachable dubble for people who are not really used to the Belgians styles ...kind of like Leffe...it serves a purpose as a gateway dubbel but that’s about all.
