An amber with a smooth start and an overall sensation of chestnuts.

""chestnut is used as a prime ingredient rather than as flavouring", quotes the brewery. Its a traditional Corsican ingredient. I dont taste particularly chestnut. Though it gives nice golden sweetness to the beer....Orange color. Mouthfeel is round, mellow carbonation, med body. Some fruit and nuts to the flavor, balanced, strong backbone. Cookie like malts and a nuttiness of course. Crisp, slightly bitter. Good table/dinner beer. "

"It was very nice to try this Corsican brew. Found in Montpellier (France). Clear light amber color, average white and fluffy foam. Intensely malty aroma with some hoppy and corny traces. Some not fresh grassy scents can be felt. Average body, rather watery in a mouth, but still enough intense. Hoppy bitter palate. Quite well balanced and solid brew. I enjoyed that intense bitterness over rich malty background. Some sweetish bread and even caramel flavors. Leaves a perfect solidly bitter aftertaste. Good balance of malty and hoppy flavors. Nicely expressed bitterness. Pleasant and finely drinkable beer. I should say one of the best French lagers. For those who enjoy nicely bitter lager beer.

"330 ml bottle, labeled Pietra Bière Ambrée, bought in France. My first Corsican beer. Amber colour, large head. Nutty aroma with toffee and undefined herbal notes. Flavour is moderately malty with not-too-good hops, the chestnuts shine through. Chestnut powder in beer, WTF? Some strange medicinal character and a bitter finish and aftertaste. Not my favourite this one."

"quite the experience; a nice copper-red color, a decent, thick head, an aroma with lots of sweet notes from the malt, and some dry notes too from nuts (delicious) - the taste is a feast for the tongue with so much depth, warmth and different traces to it - "
