"Another much anticipated beer and intat a bit of intimidation. This one? A dark mahogany colored beer. The foamy textured head is big and bright tan. Stays around awhile and settles into a robust lacing of thick film and foamy cap. The nose as in the tasting is malt and dark fruits. Some esters. But surprisingly it is laid back in a velvety-nearly syrup and smooth body. Well worth the try.

"Review #420- I may have preferred the Trap 8 a little better. Pretty much the same beer, so read that review. The alchohol is stronger and slightly takes away from some of the sweeter flavors, but the overall body and flavors are richer altogether. Still has that bubbly champaigne feel. Will have to get the Trap 8 again just to be sure, but all of them are top notch I am sure. Still need to sample the Trap 6 too :)"

"Definitely an impressive, complex beer. Pours a dark, cloudy brown with a thick tan head. Aroma and taste of dark fruits (think plums and raisins), Belgian yeast, sweet malt. Well balanced with so many nuances, it is hard to pick up on everything. If it weren't for the high price, I would like to have this more often."

"This is likely the highest rated brew that I am likely to ever have that makes it to the beerPal best beer list! Currently rated #2 out of 22837 rated brews. Pours a heavy dark coffee color, light tan head. Aroma is delicate with a touch of alcohol. Flavor is moderately intense complex mixture of toasted grain, malt and hops, kind of like a bitter biscuit. Mouth feel is fairly heavy, lots of flavor, but not extremely refreshing. A brew to have when you want so good intense flavor, but not so good to wipe out your thirst. Yes it is expensive, but it is definitely one of those at least once in a lifetime experiences."

"Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass
A: chocolate brown, almost looks like cider. large head, calms quickly and sticks to the side of the glass.
S: light fruit, malt and molasses or toffee
T: warm, sweet, caramel, with good carbonation.
fruity, peppery finish which lasts
I was aware of the alcohol, but not matching the expectation, given the ABV.
M: medium. some burn but not overpowering
D: except for the price and my wimpiness (ABV), gimme, gimme, gimme!
overall: go NOW and have one!"
